Artificial Intelligence panel discussion in conjunction with UTC Spring Research and Arts Conference<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

UTC faculty and student researchers are the focus of this first-ever panel discussion in conjunction with the annual Spring Research and Arts Conference<\/a> on Wednesday, April 10.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Faculty and students with AI-involved projects in the Research and Arts Conference or making use of AI technologies will talk about their work and its outcomes. Panelists and their topics or projects are:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Laurel Rhyne<\/strong><\/a>, faculty lecturer, School of Nursing<\/strong>: Current use of AI applications within the field of Nursing <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dr. Nagwan Zahry<\/a>, associate professor of communication<\/strong>: Incorporating AI in messaging development by students in Spring 2024 Crisis and Health Communications classes<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Shane Ward<\/strong><\/a>, Assistant Professor of Art<\/strong>: Incorporating AI into student-created sculplture, \u201cConvergence: Technological Singularity, Societal Collapse, and the Loss of Human Agency\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Narfiseh Ghaffar Nia, PhD Student, College of Engineering and Computer Science,<\/strong> “Artificial Intelligence Applications in Upper Extremity Prostheses” <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Amin Amiri, PhD Student, College of Engineering and Computer Science, <\/strong>“Harmonizing Brainwaves: An EEG-Based Approach to Music Therapy”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bring your brown-bag lunch–beverages and snacks will be provided.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Guests also can have an AI-enhanced professional portrait made for professional or social media purposes on-site.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

UTC Chief Information Officer Vicki Farnsworth will moderate the panel. Farnsworth also heads up coordination of the UTC AI Initiative<\/a> and will give a status update on the program.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
