A Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from the University of Tennessee Chattanooga (UTC) Gary W. Rollins College of Business helps students to gain the skills needed to achieve their career aspirations. When choosing your MBA degree program, however, it is important to consider the specifics pertaining to the coursework and how it will aid you in meeting your career goals. For this reason, we offer several concentrations, which allow students the opportunity to hone in on coursework within a specific field. Currently, UTC offers top notch MBA program concentrations in finance, business analytics, and healthcare administration. These concentrations, in addition to our general MBA degree program, provide students with the options needed when selecting their ideal MBA degree program.<\/p>\n

UTC\u2019s 100% Online MBA program and Flexible MBA program are both made up of nine strategically curated core courses. These courses are designed to aid students in gaining a higher level of understanding of the key foundational areas of business. Additionally, the curricula for these MBA programs<\/a> also include three elective courses. Students who choose to pursue one of our concentrations will take three designated courses within their concentration of choice to fulfill the elective requirements.<\/p>\n

The finance concentration gives students a solid understanding of investments and advanced financial topics.\u00a0 The Business Analytics concentration has proven to be a very popular way for future business leaders to learn about analytics and either propel them into the analytics field or prepare them to confidently discuss analytics topics with management and IT.\u00a0 Students who choose the healthcare administration concentration take three specialized elective courses that focus on the functions of administrative roles within the healthcare industry. Students who claim a specific concentration can later exhibit their specialty to future employers.\u00a0 Ultimately, when applying for a job within a specialized industry, showcasing your concentration can be a great selling point and topic of conversation.<\/p>\n

We have many students who take interest in fields outside of the concentrations that we currently offer. For these students, we offer a general MBA degree option. Students in our general MBA degree program work with their academic advisor to select approved elective courses that meet their particular areas of interest. Therefore, students who pursue the general MBA degree have flexibility when choosing their elective coursework. This allows for a more customizable approach when building a plan of study and can allow students to explore a variety of fields that fall under the larger business umbrella including marketing, human resources, business leadership and international business.<\/p>\n
