The UTC College of Business Marketing and Entrepreneurship Department hosted the\u00a02017 Southeast Entrepreneurship Conference<\/strong> (SEEC)\u00a0on the UTC campus March 3 and 4.<\/p>\n

More than 130 students–from UTC and from colleges and universities around the country–participated in the two-day event. Students heard from the founders of successful start-up companies, angel investors, and digital marketers. They also had the opportunity to learn more about social entrepreneurship and participate in a pitch contest sponsored by EPB.<\/p>\n

SEEC is a student-focused, regional entrepreneurship conference. UTC was thrilled to host the conference in Chattanooga with transitional support provided by The University of Tampa.<\/p>\n

“The UTC College of Business was thrilled to host the Southeast Entrepreneurship Conference,” said Dr. Beverly K. Brockman, George Lester Nation Professor of Entrepreneurship and Department Head of Marketing & Entrepreneurship. “We were able to offer an amazing program, thanks to the strong support of our incredible entrepreneurial community in Chattanooga. Students from all over the southeast and beyond convened here at UTC to learn, network, and celebrate entrepreneurship!”<\/p>\n

The conference was attended not only by students and faculty advisors from Tennessee, but also Indiana, Colorado, Florida, Georgia and North Carolina.<\/p>\n

A number of students participated in the EPB Pitch Competition and presented their new venture ideas\u00a0 in 90 seconds. Contestants were coached and critiqued by local entrepreneurship professionals. The winners of the 2017 EPB Pitch Competition are as follows:<\/p>\n

1st Place: Ambedo – Berry College<\/p>\n

2nd Place: Wahi Ride – University of Florida<\/p>\n
