{"id":598,"date":"2017-12-05T17:07:13","date_gmt":"2017-12-05T17:07:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogarchive.utc.edu\/business\/?p=598"},"modified":"2017-12-05T17:07:13","modified_gmt":"2017-12-05T17:07:13","slug":"business-llc-students-look-back-on-their-first-semester-at-utc","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogarchive.utc.edu\/business\/2017\/12\/05\/business-llc-students-look-back-on-their-first-semester-at-utc\/","title":{"rendered":"Business LLC Students look back on their first semester at UTC"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The 2017-18 Business Living Learning Community students and their Program Director, Jaclyn York, traveled to many businesses and volunteered their time to help others during the Fall 2017 semester.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We are currently in our fifth year and the cohort from this semester has been incredible&#8221;, said York, Program Director. &#8220;We have had hiring managers and various professionals from companies such as Elliott Davis, Covenant Transport, and PlayCore visit our class to provide resume advice and interviewing best practices. We have sincerely made lasting connections in the business community. In fact &#8211;\u00a0 there are already <strong>a number of this year&#8217;s cohort who have landed internships as first semester freshmen<\/strong> which is almost unheard of at this point in many collegiate careers. Most importantly &#8211; we had fun!&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Next semester, the cohort plans to visit the Small Business Development Center, Erlanger Hospital, and many other locations around Chattanooga. <strong>Applications are now being accepted for the 2018-19 academic year and are due May 1, 2018!<\/strong> To apply, visit <a href=\"http:\/\/www.utc.edu\/bllc\">www.utc.edu\/bllc\u00a0<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Not familiar with the Business LLC? It is a &#8220;Living and Learning Community&#8221; hosted in conjunction with UTC&#8217;s Housing Department.
