Max Finley Chair in Business, Free Enterprise and Capitalism. &#8220;Professionals with data analytics expertise are highly sought after and work in a variety of industries including healthcare, logistics and transportation, manufacturing and more. These professionals need both technical know-how and business knowledge as they help organizations interpret technical data in order to make better business decisions.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The Master of Science in Data Analytics at UTC is one of only a few programs in the country offered jointly by a college of business and a college of engineering and computer science. This joint program provides students with both the technical and business expertise they need to succeed. The MSDA program is designed to meet employer demands, both regionally and nationally. According to Robert Half&#8217;s &#8220;2017 Salary Guide for Technology Professionals,&#8221; data analysts earn between $77,500 and $118, 750, depending on experience, education and skills.<\/p>\n<p>Other benefits of the MSDA:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>There is high demand for data analysts. The Bureau of Labor Statistics projects that the field will grow at least 19% between now and 2024\u2014a much higher rate than all other occupations.<\/li>\n<li><strong>&#8220;Harvard Business Review&#8221; named data science the &#8220;Sexiest Job of the 21st Century.&#8221;<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&#8220;Analytics plays a critical role in so many sectors of the economy,&#8221; said Robert S. Dooley, Dean of the Gary W. Rollins College of Business. &#8220;By partnering with the College of Engineering and Computer Science our new MS in Data Analytics incorporates an innovative approach and provides a pipeline of professionals to fuel a regional economy that relies on innovation for growth.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><strong>All classes are offered in the evening to serve working professionals<\/strong> in southeast Tennessee, including those who are seeking to upgrade their skills, recent graduates of the RCOB and CECS, graduates of other related programs, and graduates of other universities and international students.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Data analytics is evolving to demand a strong acumen in business and science,&#8221; added Daniel J. Pack, Dean of the College of Engineering and Computer Science. &#8220;The new MS in Data Analytics combines both skill sets in a way that will set graduates apart in the marketplace and provides value to employers.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Program participants have the opportunity to <strong>choose either a business track or a computer science track<\/strong>.
