Dr. Keenan Dungey, Dr. Jared Pienkos, Dr. Benjamin Stein, and Dr. Wang Yang Yong (Chemistry and Physics) have received $11,500 from the American Chemical Society for the project entitled, University of Tennessee at Chattanooga site for the American Chemical Society Project SEED.”<\/p>\n

Dr. Andrew Bailey (Health & Human Performance) and Charlie Mix (IGTLab) have received $8,983 from the Chattanooga Sports Committee for the project entitled, \u201cChattanooga Marathon.”<\/p>\n

Dr. Anthony Skjellum (SIMCenter) has received $34,312 from the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory for the project entitled, \u201cLeveraging Asynchronous Point-To-Point Communication in High-Performance Computing.”<\/p>\n

Melissa Laseter (Student Support Services) has received $352,519 from the US Dept. of Education for the project entitled, \u201cUTC Student Support Services Program.”<\/p>\n

Dr. Benjamin Stein (Chemistry and Physics) has received $50,882 from the National Institutes of Health for the project entitled, Characterization of non-canonical regulatory pathways in the Caulobacter NtrYX signaling system.”<\/p>\n

Charlie Mix and Nyssa Hunt (IGTLab) have received $29,566 from a non-profit foundation for a research project.<\/p>\n

Austin Harris (CUIP), Dr. Mina Sartipi (Computer Science and Engineering) and Charlie Mix (IGTLab) have received $253,119 from the Tennessee Department of Transportation for the project entitled, \u201cTDOT Technical Assistance Program.”<\/p>\n

Dr. Joanne Romagni (Vice Chancellor for Research & Sponsored Programs) has received $850,566 from the Tennessee Higher Education Commission for the project entitled, \u201cFY23 Center for Excellence in Applied Computational Science & Engineering.”<\/p>\n

Dr. Mina Sartipi (CUIP), Dr. Reinhold Mann (Assistant Vice Chancellor for Research), Dr. Osama Osman (CUIP), and Dr. Vahid Rasouli Disfani (Electrical Engineering) have received $49,507 from the National Science Foundation for the project entitled, \u201cTennessee Technology-Enabled Advanced Mobility Engine.”<\/p>\n

Dr. Rateesh Ranjan (Mechanical Engineering) has received $159,427 from the National Science Foundation for the project entitled, \u201cERI: Computational Investigation of High-Pressure Turbulent Premixed Flames – Physical Insights and Two-Scale Predictive Modeling.”<\/p>\n

Dr. Anthony Skjellum (SIMCenter) has received $16,000 from the National Science Foundation for the project entitled, \u201cEAGER: Real-time Strategies and Synchronized Time Distribution Mechanisms for Enhanced Exascale Performance-Portability and Predictability.”<\/p>\n

Dr. Dawn Ford (Biology, Geology, and Environmental Sciences) has received $9,988 from Walden University for the project entitled, \u201cThe San Salvador Bahamas Community Garden Enrichment Program: A transdisciplinary approach to healthy living for social change.”<\/p>\n

Dr. Yu Liang (Computer science and Engineering), Dr. Zibin Guo (Anthropology), Dr. Yingfeng Wang (Mathematics), and Dr. Dalei Wu (Civil and Chemical Engineering) have requested $98,273 from the AI\/Machine Learning Consortium to Advance Health Equity and Researcher Diversity (AIM-AHEAD) for the project entitled, “AI-enabled musical formulation of biometric data for promoting medical equity.”<\/p>\n

Charlie Mix (IGTLab) has requested $442,286 from the City of Chattanooga for the project entitled, “Take Root: Analyzing, Mapping, and Restoring Chattanooga’s Urban Forests.”<\/p>\n

Dr. Mina Sartipi (CUIP) and Dr. Chandra Ward (Sociology) have requested $99,994 from the City of Chattanooga for the project entitled, “Equitably Filling Gaps in Chattanooga’s EV Charger Landscape.”<\/p>\n

Dr. Donald Reising (Electrical Engineering) has requested $4,784 from the Electric Power Research Institute for the project entitled, “OpenZmeter Security and Data Analytics Integration.”<\/p>\n

Dr. Lucien Ellington and Dr. Jeffrey Melnik (School of Education) have requested $34,991 from the Freeman Foundation for the project entitled, “Freeman Foundation Teacher Development Programs 2023-2024.”<\/p>\n

Dr. David Giles (Biology, Geology, and Environmental Science), Dr. Bradley Harris (Civil and Chemical Engineering), and Dr. Steven Symes (Chemistry and Physics) have requested $396,750 from the National Institutes of Health for the project entitled, “In vitro and in silico investigations of changes in bacterial cell membrane dynamics due to polyunsaturated fatty acid (PUFA) modifications.”<\/p>\n

Dr. Wang Yong Yang and Dr. Steven Symes (Chemistry and Physics) has requested $317,500 from the National Institutes of Health for the project entitled, “Development of the optimized selective d(CCG) repeat binders and evaluation of their repeat contraction as a potential treatment of Fragile X-associated disorders.”<\/p>\n

Dr. Khalid Tantawi (Mechanical Engineering) in collaboration with Motlow State Community College has requested $6,815 from the National Science Foundation for the project entitled, “Enhancing the Educational Experience and Socio-Cultural Awareness for Engineering Students through an International Visit to Visit to Israel and Jordan.”<\/p>\n

Dr. Mengjun Xie (National Center Academic Excellence Cyber Defense), in collaboration with Purdue University Northwest, has requested $230,159 from the Department of Defense for the project entitled, “Continue and Sustain the NCAE-C AI-Cybersecurity Workforce Certification Based Training.”<\/p>\n

Dr. Rahul Bhosale (Chemical Engineering), in collaboration with Qatar University has requested $143,305 from the Qatar National Research Fund for the project entitled, “Renewable Fuel Production via Integration of Solar Driven Biomass Conversion and Thermochemical Water Splitting Technologies.”<\/p>\n

Dr. Joey Shaw (Biology, Geology, and Environmental Science) has requested $6,638 from the SWCA Environmental Consultants for the project entitled, “TC Energy Solar Project Kestrel.”<\/p>\n

Dr. Joey Shaw (Biology, Geology, and Environmental Science) has requested $6,110 from the SWCA Environmental Consultants for the project entitled, “TC Energy Solar Project Osprey.”<\/p>\n

Dr. John Tucker (Biology, Geology, and Environmental Science) and Dr. Dawn Ford (Biology, Geology, and Environmental Science) have requested $12,251 from the Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation for the project entitled, “Lead Testing of Drinking Water in Hamilton County Child Care Facilities.”<\/p>\n

Dr. Lucien Ellington (School of Education) has requested $2,500 from the Jack Miller Center for Teaching America’s Founding Principles and History for the project entitled, “2023 Constitution Day.”<\/p>\n
