Abstract:
\u201cWorkplace Recovery\u201d refers to the replenishment of workers’ energetic resources which is an important process for bettering workers\u2019 personal life and their organization. Regularly engaging in workplace recovery improves work performance, engagement, and has significant benefits for work and home domains. Yet, there has been little to no research on what motivates employees on an individual level to participate in recovery behaviors. The proposed study aimed to identify individual motivations to engage in recovery through interviews with a variety of employees. I performed a thematic analysis to identify common themes among participants. Responses were then used to create a new Motives for Workplace Recovery scale which was then validated in a survey study. The goal of this thesis is to help organizations identify individual motivations for engaging in workplace recovery, which will help aid in relevant recovery interventions.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
