As a reminder <em>HWGH <\/em>is available as an ebook through the UTC Library.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Read to Achieve Committee selected this text as many of these histories touch on a variety of issues we bring into our courses at UTC. To that end we compiled a list of resources for faculty teaching any of the histories in their courses. These resources include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Introductory materials for students<\/li><li>Sarah Sinclair\u2019s TED Talk Why We Need to Amplify Indigenous Voices<\/li><li>Potential Topics of Inquiry<\/li><li>Discussion Questions<\/li><li>Compiled Thematic Guides<\/li><li>Native\/Indigenous Films\/Documentaries<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Additionally we have identified several themes among the narratives and developed guiding questions and provided links to popular, scholarly, and multimodal sources for these themes. Themes include economic disparities\/poverty, education\/educational disparities, environmental justice\/resource extraction, foster care\/adoption, gender violence, health\/healthcare disparities, homelessness, mental health\/healthcare disparities, intergenerational trauma, missing\/murdered Indigenous women and girls, policing\/incarceration, reclaiming culture\/cultural erasure, representation\/identity, tribal sovereignty\/authority\/UNDIP, voting rights\/representation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you would like access to any of these support materials, please contact Jenn Stewart (<a href=\"mailto:jenn-stewart@utc.edu\">jenn-stewart@utc.edu<\/a>).
