Chattanooga\u2019s coffee culture has shifted over the last few years, with an increase in the number of local coffee shops and heightened demand for our favorite sugary caffeinated beverages. With roughly 20 cafes occupying Downtown and North Shore, and more than 30 within city limits, Chattanooga definitely has your caffeine addiction covered.<\/span><\/p>\n

According to <\/span>E-Importz<\/span><\/a>, a company which monitors coffee consumption statistics, more than 50 percent of Americans over the age of 18 drink coffee daily. That equals roughly 150 million cups a day \u2014 if you don\u2019t count the second, third, or even fourth cups coffee drinkers may have after breakfast. <\/span><\/p>\n

Traditionally, coffeehouses were meeting spots for academics during the <\/span>Age of Enlightenment<\/span><\/a> \u2014 and honestly, that hasn\u2019t changed much. If you pop your head into any caf\u00e9 in Chattanooga, you are bound to find at least one university student cramming for a test, reading, or meeting for a study group \u2014 usually with some espresso mix.<\/span><\/p>\n

Based on <\/span>Yelp<\/span><\/a> reviews, a few local favorites include Cadence Coffee Company with 5 stars, Mean Mug Coffeehouse with 4.5 stars, and Milk & Honey, also with 4.5 stars. Many of these shops are also well known for their breakfast and lunch selections!<\/span><\/p>\n
