Fall commencement is nearly here.\u00a0 Congratulations to the more than 700 undergraduates and 100-plus graduate students who will receive their degrees this fall.\u00a0 The graduate student ceremony is at 2:30 p.m. on Friday, December 10, in McKenzie Arena. \u00a0Two undergraduate commencement ceremonies will be held on Saturday, December 11, with the College of Arts and Sciences and the College of Engineering and Computer Science at 9 a.m. and Rollins College of Business and College of Health, Education and Professional Studies at 1 p.m., both in McKenzie Arena.<\/p>\n

UTC is participating in EDGE Magazine\u2019s \u201cBest Places to Work\u201d program<\/a>.\u00a0 As part of the process, all faculty and staff members will be asked to partake in an online survey during the December 3\u2013December 17 timeframe.\u00a0 Your voice is critical, and we are hoping for significant participation in this survey.\u00a0 We look forward to achieving the goal of being recognized as one of Chattanooga\u2019s best places to work.<\/p>\n

The College of Engineering and Computer Science and the Center for Professional Education recently celebrated the launch of the National Security Agency-sponsored Cybersecurity Workforce Certificate Training Program<\/a>.\u00a0 The CWCT program helps address the cybersecurity workforce needs of the state and the nation and increases the value of the UTC brand.\u00a0 Congratulations to everyone involved in bringing this critical NSA partnership to UTC.<\/p>\n

MOC Forward was a proud partner of this week\u2019s Chattanooga Human Rights Day Virtual Celebration.\u00a0 The \u201cOne Chattanooga\u2014Moving Our City Forward\u201d event commemorated the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, and speakers included Vice Chancellor for Diversity and Engagement Stacy Lightfoot.<\/p>\n

For the second year in a row, the UTC student delegation to the Tennessee Intercollegiate State Legislature was designated best overall for excellence in all areas of the mock congress.\u00a0 What a tremendous honor!\u00a0 UTC group members won numerous individual accolades, with political science majors Miles Mosby and Nicki Messer earning the Carlisle Award\u2014TISL\u2019s most prestigious honor.\u00a0 Congratulations to the student participants and the group\u2019s faculty advisor, Assistant Professor of Public Administration Chris Acuff.<\/p>\n

Esports continues to grow on campus, and we have a player at UTC ranked as one of the top participants in Call of Duty.\u00a0 Junior Ryan Johnson was recently featured by eFuse News<\/a> as one of the Top 10 returning Call of Duty College League players.\u00a0 Way to go, Ryan!<\/p>\n
