It\u2019s hard to believe that the fall semester is about to begin. \u00a0Where did the summer go?<\/p>\n

Our campus was a busy place; we hosted over 2870 students for Orientation this summer. Fall Semester enrollment is on track to increase over last year.\u00a0 Thank you to everyone who worked so hard recruiting and preparing for the arrival of our new students.<\/p>\n

Our new freshman class will be moving in to the residence halls on Thursday, August 18th<\/sup><\/strong> to a campus-wide welcome celebration called OPERATION MOVE-IN<\/strong>.\u00a0 It\u2019s a great opportunity for everyone at UTC to get involved. We want faculty, staff, students, alumni and community partners to help welcome our newest Mocs to campus. We still need volunteers to help carry boxes, give directions, or just take time to meet and talk with our newest students and their families. You should expect that day to be a bit crazy around campus, so let\u2019s have some fun. With your help, we can create a great first impression for our new students and their families.<\/p>\n

If you\u2019re not able to get involved on move-in day, please consider volunteering for UTC\u2019s 9th<\/sup> Annual House Calls<\/strong> program. You can be part of a team of faculty and staff that visits with students in the residence halls to see how they\u2019re doing as the semester kicks off. It\u2019s a great opportunity to engage with our students and answer questions they may have about UTC. It\u2019s another way to show our students that we care about them while helping them build new connections with faculty and staff. Our Residence Life team will prepare you for the visits with a brief lunchtime training session.\u00a0 This year\u2019s House Calls event takes place on Monday, August 29th<\/sup> between 1:00pm and 4:00pm<\/strong>. If you\u2019d like to volunteer, you can register online now<\/a>.<\/p>\n
