A round of applause is deserved for Dr. Richard Brown and Ms. Terry Denniston, both of whom recently received prestigious awards. Richard, Executive Vice Chancellor for Finance and Administration, was the recipient of the 2018 James R. Mapp Ruby Hurley Image Award from the local chapter of the NAACP. Terry, Chief of Staff, was named a 2018 Woman of Distinction of Greater Chattanooga. Being a meaningful member of our community is one of our major missions at UTC, and awards like these are evidence that our efforts are working.<\/p>\n

Two of our online programs have been recognized as among the top 20 in the nation. The Master of Engineering Management is ranked No. 16 and the Bachelor of Science in Nursing is No. 17. The rankings are from the SR Education Group, a website that compiles information about online degree programs across the country.<\/p>\n

The Mocs football team\u2019s final home game of the season is Saturday, November 10, at Finley Stadium. At 1:00 p.m. we face off against Mercer. Come give our Mocs a loud and energetic send-off for their season. Go Mocs!<\/p>\n

Nominations for the UT President\u2019s Awards are now open. The awards recognize outstanding contributions from faculty and staff system-wide. If you know someone at UTC who deserves recognition for their exceptional work and dedication, you can find the criteria for the five categories and submit your nomination here<\/a>. The deadline is Monday, November 5.<\/p>\n

Do not forget that Election Day is Tuesday, November 6. Polling hours in Hamilton County are 8:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m., while Georgia polls are open from 7:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. Voting is one of our most important rights, and I urge you to participate in our political process.<\/p>\n

In other election news, Mocs Go Vote has two vans to help get students to the polls on Election Day. If you want to volunteer to drive the vans between 10:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m., email Shawn-Trivette@utc.edu<\/a> with times you are available.<\/p>\n
