Lab"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"has-normal-font-size\">In this research, translation, and application lab, we focus on understanding and developing healthy and optimal work environments and experiences for people in a wide variety of occupations. A strong emphasis is placed on identifying and understanding individual differences and associated factors that affect personal work-related experiences and more general health and well-being. A related area of interest is in the interaction between person and work-environment features.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h.p_JCxhNtVV2dOG_l\">Current Projects<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-normal-font-size\">This lab is currently tackling a number of projects associated with work-related stress and recovery management. Here is a quick list of projects underway in the H.O.W. Lab for 2025 and 2026:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"has-normal-font-size\">Continuing to support the Total Organizational Health (TOH@UTC) initiative to improve health, safety, and well-being for all employees at UTC. You can learn more about this large-scale, evidence-based culture change initiative through the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.utc.edu\/total-organizational-health\">TOH@UTC website<\/a> and the corresponding <a href=\"https:\/\/blogarchive.utc.edu\/toh\/\">TOH@UTC blog series<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"has-normal-font-size\">Completing dissemination of findings from the Motivation and Meaning in Medicine project&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/blogarchive.utc.edu\/cjlcunningham\/motivation-and-meaning-in-medicine-m3-project\/\">(click here for more details)<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"has-normal-font-size\">Completing dissemination of findings from a comprehensive study of work and parental burnout in women (with our partners at&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/trueve.com\/press\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Trueve Lab<\/a>)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"has-normal-font-size\">Understanding and providing guidance pertaining to the effects of Industry 4.0 technology and process advancements on manufacturing workers and organizations&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.peakperformanceinc.com\/smart-factory-institute\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">(click here to visit the Smart Factory Institute&#8217;s website)<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"has-normal-font-size\">Continued analysis and sharing of data from multiple studies pertaining to the quality of work recovery activities, with the goal of developing guidance for recovering from work-related demands and maintaining energy levels<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"color:#ddd\" class=\"wp-block-genesis-blocks-gb-spacer gb-block-spacer gb-divider-solid gb-divider-size-1\"><hr style=\"height:4px\" \/><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-normal-font-size\">In addition to these projects, there will be multiple thesis projects underway over the next couple of years. Since 2007, I have had the opportunity to collaborate with a large number of talented students on many projects in this lab, including the ones listed below.
