This milestone provided her with the opportunity to showcase her research, connect with many <strong>water professionals<\/strong>, and build valuable networks. She also gained important insights into the <strong>current issues and challenges<\/strong> facing the water industry today. <\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>June 2025:<\/strong> Our team is committed not only to advancing research but also to engaging and inspiring future leaders. Recently, <strong>Grace Pippin and Dr. Jejal-Reddy Bathi<\/strong> visited a class of high school juniors to discuss <strong>sustainable urban development<\/strong> and the importance of <strong>protecting water quality<\/strong>. Congratulations Mithu! <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>May 5, 2024<\/strong>: Our team had a fantastic session with high school students at Skyuka Hall School, Chattanooga, TN, where Dr. Bathi delivered an excellent speech on the urbanization impacts of water hydrology. How does urbanization affect hydrology, particularly water quality and pollutant discharge? Researchers and students delve into current environmental issues and engage in critical discussion through excellent questions and answers. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>April 16, 2024<\/strong>: Our team had an excellent talk on microplastics in stormwater runoff, aiming to enhance the water quality of Chattanooga&#8217;s water. During the ASCE meeting at the DRC Center, Chattanooga, the team shared recent and future research endeavors on microplastics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>April 15, 2024:<\/strong> Our team won two awards at the UTC College of Engineering and Computer Science Technology Symposium 2024. Kara Kimes, an undergraduate student, secured 1st place, while Mithu Chanda, a graduate student, secured 2nd place for their research presentations at the CECS Tech Symposium.
