Dr. Ed McMahon<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Emeritus Professor Dr. Ed McMahon is retiring from the University after 32 years of outstanding service to the students, faculty and staff of the College and the extended community. Dr. McMahon\u2019s most recent post in CECS has been as Associate Dean. He previously served in a number of other administrative positions in addition to his teaching and research, including years as Interim Head of the Department of Engineering Management and Technology and Electrical Engineering Departments. Dr. McMahon came to UTC following a successful career in industry. His work in developing and continuously improving the College\u2019s interdisciplinary design courses has been vital to the College. Throughout his three decades at UTC, Dr. McMahon has served on fifteen different University-wide committees and governing bodies, and has been an integral part of the College\u2019s growth and its partnerships with the Community. His particular interest in designing devices and processes to improve the quality of life for others, led him to establish a not-for- profit with a focus in that important area.<\/p>\n

\u201cDr. McMahon exemplifies what we value in the college: dedication, service, and excellence. Through his 32 years of service to the college and the university, Dr. McMahon is leaving behind an innumerable number of positive marks in the lives of thousands as a teacher, mentor, and friend, ensuring that his legacy at the college will continue to live on. The college owes him much gratitude for its success.\u201d<\/p>\n

In retirement Dr. McMahon and is wife, Gerry, plan to spend time in both Chattanooga and their second home in Florida. A warning notice is in route to all the fish in Florida that Dr. McMahon is headed south to spend more time pursuing them\u2026<\/p>\n
