Prof. Susan Eckelmann Berghel’<\/a>s co-edited volume\u00a0Growing Up America: Youth and Politics since 1945<\/a>\u00a0<\/em>was recently published by the University of Georgia Press and is now available for purchase<\/a>.<\/p>\n

History Faculty Awarded Walker Center Classroom Grants<\/h3>\n

The Walker Center for Teaching and Learning awarded Prof. Eddie Brudney<\/a> and Prof. Fang Yu Hu<\/a> Classroom Mini-Grants to support the student research poster presentations they included in their Fall 2019 courses.<\/p>\n

Prof. John Swanson Named Guerry Professor<\/h3>\n

Prof. John Swanson<\/a> was named a Guerry Professor beginning in August 2019.<\/p>\n

Established by anonymous gifts in 1959 and 1961 in memory of the University\u2019s esteemed seventh president and in honor of his dedicated wife, the Guerry Professorship recognizes a select group of outstanding professors.<\/p>\n

Prof. Annie Tracy Samuel Awarded PREP Grant<\/h3>\n

Prof. Annie Tracy Samuel<\/a> was awarded a Pre-Tenure Enhancement Grant<\/a> by the UTC Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research. The grant supports pre-tenure faculty in bolstering their research portfolio in anticipation of the promotion and tenure process.<\/p>\n

Prof. Tracy Samuel will use the award to support the completion of her book, entitled The Unfinished History of the Iran-Iraq War: Faith, Firepower, and Iran’s Revolutionary Guards<\/em>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
