Susan Eckelmann Berghel<\/a> presented a paper entitled \u201c\u2018What My Generation Makes of America\u2019: Letter Writing, Political Kinship, and Everyday Youth Activism during the 1960s Civil Rights Era\u201d at the\u00a0Australasian Society for the History of Children and Youth Symposium held at the\u00a0Australian Catholic University (Melbourne, Australia) in December 2016 and a paper entitled \u201c\u2018Why Must There Be War?\u2019: Young Correspondents, U.S. Politics, and the LBJ Administration, 1963-1968\u201d at the American Historical Association Annual Meeting held in Denver in January 2017.<\/p>\n

Ryan Edwards\u2019 article \u201cConvicts and Conservation: Inmate Labor, Fires and Forestry in Southernmost Argentina\u201d is in press in the\u00a0Journal of Historical Geography<\/em>.\u00a0 In November 2016, Dr. Edwards attended the National Conference on Higher Education in Prison in Nashville. Edwards, who has taught incarcerated students at the Cayuga Correctional Facility in upstate New York, organized the panel\u00a0\u201cPrison Humanities and the Challenge of Networks in the Digital Age\u201d and presented the paper\u00a0\u201cThe Space Between World History and Cement Walls.\u201d<\/p>\n

Boris Gorshkov served as a discussant at a conference in Newcastle, United Kingdom in January 2017 on the 100th<\/sup> anniversary of the 1917 Russian Revolution and is putting the finishing touches on a new book.<\/p>\n

Fang Yu Hu<\/a> presented a paper on \u201cColonial Nostalgia and Postcolonial Identity: Critique of Chinese Nationalist Policies in Postwar Taiwan\u201d at the Annual Meeting for the New England Conference of the Association of Asian Studies held at Boston College in January 2017, and a paper on \u201c\u2018Good Wife, Wise Mother\u2019 and Colonialism: Education and Ideal of Womanhood in Taiwan under Japanese Rule, 1897-1945\u201d at the Annual Meeting for the Southeast Conference of the Association of Asian Studies held at the University of Mississippi also in January 2017.<\/p>\n

Kira Robison<\/a> presented a paper entitled \u201cTo See What\u2019s on the Slab: Access and Regulation of Anatomical Dissections at the University of Bologna\u201d at\u00a0the Southeastern Medieval Association\u00a0Conference held in Knoxville in October 2016 and a paper entitled \u201cBlurring Lines: Medieval Anatomy and the Intersection of Disciplines\u201d at the\u00a0Mediterranean Seminar held at the Hill Museum and Manuscript Library (Collegeville, MN) in November 2016.<\/p>\n

Annie Tracy Samuel<\/a> presented a paper entitled \u201cCommanding the Faithful: The Kingdom of Morocco\u2019s Relations with the Islamic Republic of Iran\u201d at the Fall Meeting of the Southeast Regional Middle East and Islamic Studies Seminar held in Valle Crucis, NC in October 2016.\u00a0 Her article on \u201cImplementing the Nuclear Deal with Iran: Vital Lessons from the Iran-Iraq War,\u201d co-authored with Ariane Tabatabai of Georgetown University, was accepted for publication in International Security <\/em>and will be published in 2017.<\/p>\n

Michelle White<\/a> contributed ten biographical entries to\u00a0A Biographical Encyclopedia of Early Modern Englishwomen, Exemplary Lives and Memorable Acts, 1500-1650<\/em>\u00a0(Abington, Oxon: Routledge, 2017).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
