On Tuesday Feb. 7<\/strong> and Wednesday Feb. 8<\/strong> the MCC and Africana Studies will host a 2-day marathon screening of the award-winning 1987 documentary series \u201cEyes on the Prize.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n

Produced by Blackside, the series offers a lens on the events of the 1950s and 1960s, giving viewers new insights into what creator Henry Hampton called \u201cthe remarkable human drama that was the Civil Rights Movement.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Including footage of landmark figures including Reverand Ralph Abernathy, Coretta Scott King, and Kwame Ture (also known as Stokely Carmichael), this series is a must-see for students of Black history! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Screenings will start at 11AM<\/strong> in the Multicultural Center (Lupton 119)<\/strong> and will continue until we run out of steam (around 3PM each day). <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Come for the duration or stop in for half an hour to learn something new! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Refreshments<\/strong> and information about the Africana Studies program (and swag<\/strong>!) will be available. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
