Join Professors Annie Tracy Samuel and Michael Samuel to hear their expert takes on the ongoing conflicts in the Middle East involving Iran, Palestine, and Israel, as well as their testimony about their personal experiences of the wars. <\/h3>\n\n\n\n

This past summer the world was rocked by the 12-day Israel-Iran War, which began with an Israeli attack on Iranian nuclear and military installations and ended with the United States using massive ordnance penetrators, also known as bunker buster bombs, to strike several Iranian nuclear sites. For the duration of the conflict millions of people in Iran and Israel found themselves caught in the crosshairs as missiles rained down around them. Meanwhile, Israel continued its devastating assault on Gaza well into its second year, pausing only at the end of October following a U.S.-brokered ceasefire and the return of Israeli hostages. In this special \u201cSurviving War\u201d edition of Historians React to Current Events, Profs. Annie Tracy Samuel and Michael Samuel will unpack what all of this means, while also sharing their personal experience of fleeing a war zone.<\/p>\n\n\n
