Students at University of Tennessee at Chattanooga (UTC) are digitizing archival records of the local textile firm United Hosiery Mills, thanks to a $1,900 state grant from the Tennessee Historical Records Advisory Board. The collection, which charts the company’s founding in 1904 and its pioneering use of the comic-character Buster Brown for marketing children’s clothing, will be made publicly accessible online.
