UTC formally broke ground on July\u202f21, 2025, beginning construction of the Oak Street Residence Hall, slated to open in 2027. Located between Oak and McCallie Streets, it will house approximately 794 students in double\u2011occupancy rooms. Designed as flexible, floor\u2011based \u201cneighborhoods,\u201d the building will include communal kitchens, study and multipurpose spaces, courtyards, in\u2011building amenities, and a pedestrian corridor linking both sides of campus.
