At about 11pm we heard a series of bell ringings coming from the troubled elevator. After numerous attempts at communication we narrowed it down to them being trapped on 2nd floor. Called UTC PD but before they could arrive the elevator suddenly started working and deposited the patrons (5) on 1st floor. Alerted UTC PD but an officer was already in route so she came in to check on the patrons.\u00a0 After much complaining by patrons and discussion, I closed down LB3 (left side)\u00a0 the best I could by putting up signage and dragging trash cans in front of the cabs on all floors. Informed UTC PD that I have done so. The elevator to the right seems to be functioning fine so we will continue to let patrons use it.<\/p>\n
Update: To clarify–after a number of patrons pushed PAST the out of order signs and trash cans to enter the problem elevator, I have propped open the cab doors on 3rd floor and placed Caution tape across the entrance to the elevator on 3rd and 1st floor.
