A NEW UPDATE: Card Swipe only has now been implemented per the plan below for the\u00a0 Ground and 4th floors.\u00a0 Floors 1, 2, and 3 will continue to be available without card swipe until issues related to building & egress codes can be resolved.\u00a0 A temporary sign has been posted in the elevator.\u00a0 Official signs informing patrons that the elevator is for staff use only are forthcoming.<\/p>\n

Now that most of the contractors have completed their work in the building, it is time to put our staff elevator on card swipe only.\u00a0 This change should eliminate most (or even all?) of the problems we have been experiencing with patrons getting stuck in staff hallways.\u00a0 I am heading out to test the new set up right now, and if everything works as expected, the staff elevator will henceforth be available by card swipe only.\u00a0 Library staff, custodians, and contractors will have access to all floors (G, 1, 2, 3, & 4).\u00a0 Advising\/Tutoring staff will have access to floors 1, 2, & 3.\u00a0 Walker, CAIT, and English Faculty will have access to floors 1, 2, & 4.<\/p>\n
I will also post a sign in the elevator about the change.<\/p>\n
