For 170 years, Americans have relied on their skilled staff of reporters and photographers to cover some of the most important events in the United States and around the world.<\/p>\n

Now, it\u2019s possible to get a behind-the-scenes look on how these stories were crafted thanks to the \u201cAssociated Press Collections Online\u201d database<\/a> available at the UTC Library. This collection features correspondence, internal memos and publications, and images that document the history of the news agency. The database allows users to explore collections by document type and news bureau, including the Birmingham and Atlanta bureaus. These collections offer a treasure trove of information on the Civil Rights Movement, late 20th<\/sup> century Israel, and the evolution of journalism through the lens of the AP Stylebook.<\/p>\n

The \u201cAssociated Press Collections Online\u201d database is a powerful tool for researchers in History, English, Communication, as well as those curious about the way our news is created and shared.<\/p>\n
