{"id":1137,"date":"2011-04-13T09:56:06","date_gmt":"2011-04-13T09:56:06","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blog.lib.utc.edu\/archivist\/?p=1137"},"modified":"2013-09-16T12:50:03","modified_gmt":"2013-09-16T12:50:03","slug":"my-waterfall","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogarchive.utc.edu\/library\/2011\/04\/13\/my-waterfall\/","title":{"rendered":"My Waterfall"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Spring has arrived and, for many of us, our minds wander to the outdoors as we wish ourselves into the center of the<strong> grand explosion<\/strong> that is spring.\u00a0 One of my favorite things about this time of year is the effect of rainfall on the cascades &amp; waterfalls that flow out of the hills and mountains of east Tennessee.\u00a0 April&#8217;s showers swell these natural features into shimmering, thundering centerpieces of the awakening forests.\u00a0 Visit them later in the summer and they are but a shadow of their roaring, glorious selves- often barely a trickle.<\/p>\n<p>The root of my waxing on waterfalls is a photograph that I found while processing a collection (<strong>Orrelle Cornelius Collection<\/strong>) this week.\u00a0 The photo (below) is of a UTC (UC at the time) physics professor, Dr. David W.
