Sometimes it’s good to shake things up. As an online newsletter, Lupton Library Lines<\/em> has been published every Fall and Spring semester since Spring, 2008 — in fact, we’ve surpassed our 100th article. Publishing every semester has worked well for us when it comes to big announcements and updates of our many projects. But what about the stuff that happens on a more day-to-day frequency? We don’t want to wait weeks or months for the next newsletter to let you know about a great new resource, to share a useful tip for using the library, to announce library news, or to engage other topics as they occur. This is a major reason why we’re experimenting with something new. As of today, we will begin publishing Lupton Library Lines<\/em> on a new site: blog.lib.utc.edu\/lines<\/a>.<\/p>\n

What will you find in our new format? For starters, you’ll find every article ever published in our newsletters. Everything has migrated. However, our new format allows us to organize our articles better. We’ve categorized our articles, so if you want read about new technology or new materials, or access helpful how-to articles, you may click a section. We’ve also opened up comments on newly published articles to facilitate discussion. Not to brag, but we think the new site a kind of handsome too.<\/p>\n

For now, the new iteration of Lupton Library Lines<\/em> will be somewhat of an experiment. As we spend more time with the new site we will likely make minor changes and updates as well as explore new types of content. We will likely continue a semester update in some capacity, and we hope you will help us determine how best to inform you of all library goings-on. Your involvement in helping us decide the directions in which to take our new blog is huge. Poke around and let us know what you think<\/a>. What kind of articles would you like to see?
