{"id":327,"date":"2009-09-03T12:46:15","date_gmt":"2009-09-03T12:46:15","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blog.lib.utc.edu\/news\/?p=327"},"modified":"2013-09-13T20:33:16","modified_gmt":"2013-09-13T20:33:16","slug":"the-times-they-are-a-changin","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogarchive.utc.edu\/library\/2009\/09\/03\/the-times-they-are-a-changin\/","title":{"rendered":"The Times They are A-Changin&#8217;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In Spring 2009, as part of a $100,000 cut to its base budget, coupled with an unfunded increase in the federal minimum wage amount, the Library was forced to reduce its <strong>building hours of operation<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The Library sought <strong>student and faculty input<\/strong> in regards to which hours to reduce as part of the Annual Library Survey, conducted each Spring.\u00a0 The input received from students indicated they wished the Library to open later in the morning and close on Saturday.\u00a0 The majority of faculty suggested the Library close earlier in the evening and open later in the morning.<\/p>\n<p>The Library, in an effort to balance the input and continue to serve each patron group to the best of its abilities, reduced hours a small amount at open, at close, and on Saturday.<\/p>\n<p>The Library approved hours of operation for the <strong>Fall 2009 semester <\/strong>are listed below, along with the number of decreased hours of operation per day.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In Spring 2009, as part of a $100,000 cut to its base budget, coupled with an unfunded increase in the federal minimum wage amount, the Library was forced to reduce its building hours of operation.
