{"id":6396,"date":"2010-03-17T07:47:41","date_gmt":"2010-03-17T07:47:41","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blog.lib.utc.edu\/archivist\/?p=128"},"modified":"2013-09-16T13:40:20","modified_gmt":"2013-09-16T13:40:20","slug":"here-come-the-irish-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogarchive.utc.edu\/library\/2010\/03\/17\/here-come-the-irish-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Here Come the Irish"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In celebration of <strong>St. Patrick&#8217;s Day<\/strong> we are sharing a small piece of Irish pride from our rare book collection.\u00a0 Below are two American Civil War Irish regimental histories from our extensive collection of regimental histories.\u00a0 On the left is <a href=\"http:\/\/tinyurl.com\/ylgcs6n\"><em>The Irish Ninth in Bivouac and Battle<\/em><\/a> by M.H. MacNamara (Boston: Lee &amp; Shepard, 1867; 9th Massachusetts regiment) and on the right is <a href=\"http:\/\/tinyurl.com\/yzogt7c\"><em>The Irish Brigade and Its Campaigns<\/em><\/a> by Capt. D.P.
