Hopefully that title did not get anyone’s hopes up.\u00a0 Unfortunately, we are not acquiring any rare David Bowie memorabilia.\u00a0 We are, however, making some changes.\u00a0 In the next few weeks we will be transitioning to using the blog as the Special Collections department’s homepage.\u00a0 Please be patient with us as we test out this new ground- we haven’t been able to locate other archives that are currently doing this, so we are not sure how it will go.\u00a0 Please feel free to offer any comments on how this is working\/not working for your needs.<\/p>\n

In other news<\/strong>, we are happy to announce that we are now beginning to receive items from a collection we have been working on acquiring for some time now.\u00a0 A few selections include: a first edition, first state of Gone With the Wind, a first edition of Uncle Tom’s Cabin, and several tomes that sport fore-edge paintings<\/a>.\u00a0 Stay tuned for updates as we receive more items and look towards a fall showing & reception for the entire collection.<\/p>\n
