With the beginning of the Fall 2010 semester, and as we welcome so many new students, faculty &amp; staff to campus, we thought it might be handy to give everyone a reminder of some important Library policies.<\/p>\n<p><strong>When UTC students check out a book, they may keep it for the whole semester<\/strong>, and they may check out <strong>up to 50 books<\/strong> at one time. Faculty receive a book for the academic year, to a maximum of 100 at once. If you need a book someone has checked out, we will acquire a copy for you if you place a request through our Interlibrary Loan service on the Library\u2019s home page. You may renew your items online through your library account. UTC\u00a0 may also check out DVDs, VHS, and CDs. These items are loaned for 7 days to students and 14 days to faculty.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Group study rooms check out for 3 hours<\/strong>, and are a great place to get together to work on group projects or for study sessions. You can also check out one of the <strong>Library\u2019s laptops<\/strong> \u2013 these check out for 3 hours, and are in-Library use only. Remember, you can always log into a Library desktop using your UTCID and password, or bring your own laptop to hop onto the University\u2019s wireless system. The IT Helpdesk in the University Center can help you get your personal laptop set up on the UTC network.<\/p>\n<p>The Library<a href=\"http:\/\/blog.lib.utc.edu\/news\/2010\/09\/17\/new-technology-at-the-library\/\" target=\"_blank\"> also has <\/a>digital cameras and video cameras (3-day check outs), Amazon Kindles (7 days), audio recorders, calculators, and headphones for UTC students, faculty, and staff. Wish the Library loaned something that we don\u2019t currently have available? Let us know! We\u2019ll see what we can do about it.<\/p>\n<p>If you lose a book, or keep a technology item until it is overdue, remember that you can pay your Library fines through your MyMocsNet account, at the Bursar&#8217;s Office, or in person at the Library\u2019s Circulation desk.<\/p>\n<p>The Library does have a caf\u00e9 area near the back of the building on the first floor. You are welcome to bring drinks, snacks, or entire pizzas to nosh on while you study.<\/p>\n<p>Welcome to Fall 2010.
