The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga honored 91 individuals whose lives impacted the University during the annual Blue and Gold Memorial service on Monday, Feb. 24.
UTC’s Ryan Jones named College Division Fundraiser of the Year
UTC Senior Associate Athletics Director for Advancement Ryan Jones was named the 2025 College Division Fundraiser of the Year by the National Association of Athletic Directors of Development. Jones is in his fourth year with the Mocs and has guided UTC’s fundraising efforts to unprecedented success during his tenure.

Cookbook written by MPH students combats picky eating for ‘little foodies’
When Erica Carr and Brittany Rogers started their community nutrition experiential learning hours last semester, they didn’t expect to write a cookbook. As students in the Master of Public Health (MPH) program at the UTC, they worked with the Chattanooga Food Center’s annual Good Food Fair—an event that introduces families to healthy foods in a fun, interactive way.
ARC accessibility enhanced thanks to Tennessee American Water and American Water Charitable Foundation
The ARC was awarded a $10,000 grant from the American Water Charitable Foundation in partnership with Tennessee American Water to install a new ADA-compliant chair lift, enhancing accessibility for individuals with mobility challenges.
Science on Tap debuts to standing-room-only crowd
Almost 100 people were in attendance for the debut presentation of Science on Tap. Organized by UTC, Science on Tap is planned to recur on the second Tuesday of every month as an opportunity to share UTC expertise with the community in a relaxed, social setting.

UTC Theatre Co. presents “Bright Star” Feb. 25-March 1
Steve Martin and Edie Brickell’s “Bright Star,” a heartfelt story of love, loss and redemption set against the bluegrass-rich backdrop of the American South in the 1920s and 1940s, will take the stage at the UTC Fine Arts Center’s Dorothy Hackett Ward Theatre. Performed by the UTC Theatre Co., “Bright Star” runs at 7:30 p.m. from Feb. 25-March 1—with a 2 p.m. matinee on Saturday, March 1.
Love, marriage and UTC: Faculty and staff couples share their stories
Love is in the air this Valentine’s Day at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga—especially among married couples who are faculty and staff. To celebrate, five pairs of campus couples shared the story of their marriages and gave some relationship advice to the rest of the campus community.
