This exhibition runs through January 27, 2014.<\/b><\/p>\n

Any student enrolled in courses within the professional curriculum of the Department of Art at UTC could enter up to two works in any media created within the framework of their classes. Entries spanned the Department\u2019s concentration areas from first to fourth year level in Foundations, Painting and Drawing, Photography and Media Art, Sculpture, and Graphic Design.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe submissions overall were very strong this year, and the Juror\u2019s independent selections clearly demonstrate powerful conceptual themes, mastery of skills, and hours of commitment on the part of the Department\u2019s students and, by extension, the dedication of the faculty who guide and mentor them,\u201d said Ruth Grover, Director and Curator of the Cress Gallery.<\/p>\n

Exemplary of the full art curriculum, the exhibition includes a broad range of work from pen and ink to performance with a stunning variety of visual forms that reference both trends in contemporary art practice, and the extraordinary complexities of our 21st<\/sup> century.<\/p>\n

Admission to the Cress and any Cress event is free and open to the public.<\/p>\n

The Cress Gallery is located in the lobby of the UTC Fine Arts Center, 752 Vine Street, 37403.<\/p>\n

Gallery hours: 9:30am \u2013 7:30pm Monday \u2013 Friday<\/p>\n

1:00pm \u2013 4:00pm Saturday and Sunday (closed January 20)<\/p>\n
