The showcase will be held Tuesday, April 22, 4-6 p.m. on the 4<\/span><sup style=\"line-height: 1.5em\">th<\/sup><span style=\"line-height: 1.5em\"> floor of the UTC Engineering, Math, and Computer Science building, corner of Vine and Palmetto Streets. The public is welcome.<!--more--><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Among the first year design projects which focus on Assistive Technology will be:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>an adaptive swing, requested by Daisy Elementary preschool to assist students with autism;<\/li>\n<li>a device to strengthen climbing skills of children with disabilities at a local therapy clinic;<\/li>\n<li>a bicycle ride-along for a five year old boy who has Cerebral Palsy\u2014Christopher\u2019s mom wants to take him on bike rides and he needs supported seating.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Free parking is available directly behind the EMCS Building in Lot 10 after 5 p.m.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The UTC College of Engineering and Computer Science Second Annual Design and Research Project Showcase will feature assistive technology and senior design projects including the MiniBaja vehicle and the Steel Bridge.
