Accreditation by ABET is a sign of high quality for your programs,\u201d said Dr. Joseph Kizza, Department Head and Professor of Computer Science and Engineering. \u201cABET assessment of the degree programs is very rigorous, comprehensive and at the same time supportive of program faculty. So for CSE and UTC, it is a great accomplishment because it puts us on the list of those great programs accredited by ABET.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is a great success for the CSE Department,\u201d said Dr. Neslihan Alp, Interim Dean of the College of Engineering and Computer Science.<\/p>\n<p>CSE offers four different concentrations: Scientific Application, Software Systems, Information Security and Assurance, and STEM Computing.<\/p>\n<p>Alumni from the CSE program have gone on to work at major companies such as Microsoft, HP, and Google. They have worked in fields varying from game design to biochemical engineering.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur students are doing amazing things wherever they go,\u201d said Kizza. \u201cNearly all our students get jobs upon graduation with very high starting salaries. We have a large number of our students in the start-up communities here in Chattanooga and beyond.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>CSE hopes to be able to offer a concentration in Data Science in the future, with eventual Bachelor\u2019s and Master\u2019s degrees.
