The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga will present a benefit production of\u00a0The Vagina Monologues.\u00a0<\/strong><\/em>Performances will be held Thursday, February 19, and Friday, February 20.\u00a0 Both performances will begin at 7 p.m.\u00a0 A matinee will be performed on Saturday, February 21, 2 p.m.\u00a0 All performances will be held in the UTC University Center Auditorium.<\/p>\n

This benefit production is sponsored by the UTC Women\u2019s Action Council and Women\u2019s Center with proceeds benefiting the Partnership for Families, Children and Adults and the UTC Transformation Project.<\/p>\n

Tickets are $5 for students (with ID) and $10 for general admission.\u00a0 Tickets may be purchased by calling the Women\u2019s Center\u00a0(423-425-5605) or at the door.<\/p>\n

Hailed by The New York Times<\/em> as “funny” and “poignant” and by The Daily News<\/em> as “intelligent” and “courageous,”\u00a0The Vagina Monologues<\/em> was first performed off-Broadway by Eve Ensler.\u00a0 The show dives into the mystery, humor, pain, power, wisdom, outrage and excitement buried in women\u2019s experiences.<\/p>\n

Ensler has performed the play to great acclaim throughout the world – from Zagreb to Santa Barbara, from London to Seattle, from Jerusalem to Oklahoma City.<\/p>\n

Villard Books\/Random House published\u00a0The Vagina Monologues<\/em>, which includes a foreword by Gloria Steinem, in February 1998.\u00a0\u00a0A special edition was released in hard cover and paperback in February 2008 in honor of V-Day\u2019s ten-year anniversary.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
