field originators, innovators and pioneers.\u00a0 They will inspire, engage, and stimulate the innovator in you,\u201d said Deborah Levine, American Diversity Report Editor.<\/p>\n<p>Alp is the Interim Dean of the UTC College of Engineering and Computer Science.\u00a0 Prior to her appointment in May 2014, she served as the Associate Dean of Graduate Programs and Research in the College of Engineering and Computer Science as well as the Department Head of Engineering Management and Technology since 2006.\u00a0 She began her academic career at UTC in 1999.<\/p>\n<p><a Management programs in 2008 and 2010, respectively, begun with a $150,000 gift that was offered by the Associated General Contractors (AGC) of East Tennessee.<\/p>\n<p>Alp has vast work experience and practical knowledge in the field.\u00a0 During her time in Chattanooga, she has served in a consulting role for numerous employers, including the Tennessee Valley Authority, Electric Power Board, and Volkswagen Group of America, Inc., in Chattanooga.\u00a0 She has made numerous presentations at professional conferences.<\/p>\n<p>She earned the Bachelor of Science in Engineering Management and the Master of Science in Industrial Engineering from Istanbul Technical University in Turkey.\u00a0 She received the Doctor of Philosophy, Engineering Management from University of Missouri-Rolla, now Missouri University of Science and Technology.<\/p>\n<p><em>WOMEN GROUND BREAKERS is the new name for the Women&#8217;s Council on Diversity. Founded in Chattanooga TN in 2001, the Women&#8217;s Council is an ongoing source of cutting-edge programs and resources for diversity, inclusion, and cultural expertise such as our early Brown Bag Lunch Education Series. Launching the American Diversity Report in 2007, we deployed social network technology to publish the educational and motivational articles of our online writers\u2019 colony. Global-Southern leadership programming was established with a community Global Leadership Class, morphed for teens along with the Youth Multicultural Video Contest, culminating in Diversity Thanksgiving.
