Cole looked to \u00a0the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention to find a researched, proven model to use with fourth and fifth grade students. In 2010, PAWS shifted emphasis from \u201cPositive Action With Success\u201d to \u201cPostsecondary Awareness With Success.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>To be sure materials aligned with the goals of increasing postsecondary awareness, a new curriculum was designed to meet the needs of the program. \u00a0In 2011, the Center for Community Career Education published the comprehensive curriculum \u201cAchieving the Dream: College Bound!\u201d for the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.utc.edu\/center-community-career-education\/paws\/index.php\">PAWS<\/a> program.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhat we have found with PAWS\u2026 kids in this age group are like sponges for this information,\u201d Cole revealed.\u00a0 \u201cOne of our PAWS parents sent this message to Jonathan Brocco recently: \u2018I want to thank you all for giving my son the opportunity of being able to attend PAWS. He has a better outlook on the future.
