UTC\u2019s Sequoya Review<\/em> is seeking student talent in the forms of art and literature to feature in their annual literary journal. Submissions are accepted until September 30.<\/p>\n

Sequoya Review<\/em> encourages a diversity of genres, and the artists who create their work. Submissions are not just limited to English or Art majors.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Sequoya Review uniquely limits our selection pool specifically to UTC attendants, so our students, graduate students, and professors are not competing with outside sources.\u201d Rachel Smith, Editor in Chief, continued, \u201cEveryone has a chance to be published, and we want everyone to submit, regardless of major or background. The Sequoya Review<\/em> is a representation of the entire campus and we want its contents to reflect that.\u201d<\/p>\n

All genres of literature are accepted: poetry, short stories, personal essays, creative non-fiction and scripts. Photography, graphic design, sculptures, comics, and graphic novels are also featured in the journal. Check out their first installment of Meet the Team<\/em><\/a> videos, to learn more about who can submit.<\/p>\n

The selection process is completely blind, and the submitter\u2019s name will not be tied to their work for a fair and bias-free review.<\/p>\n

UTC\u2019s literary journal has been a part of campus since 1965. The publication\u2019s current name is taken from Tennessee native Sequoyah, who created a written alphabet for the Cherokee language in 1821.<\/p>\n
