Kirk Englehardt<\/p><\/div>\n

Chancellor Steve Angle announces that Kirk Englehardt has accepted the position of Vice Chancellor for Marketing and Communications at The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. Englehardt comes to UTC from Georgia Institute of Technology where he serves as Director of Research Communications.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe University of Tennessee at Chattanooga is a university on the rise,\u201d said Englehardt. \u201cThere is a real opportunity to define UTC\u2019s brand and to have a tangible impact on the university and the community.\u201d<\/p>\n

In his new position at UTC, Englehardt will lead the university\u2019s public relations, advertising, marketing and branding programs as well as video production and WUTC.<\/p>\n

Englehardt has served as Georgia Tech\u2019s first executive-level communicator accountable for building a comprehensive research communication and marketing program. In this position, he aligned the communication activities of 6 colleges, 29 schools, and 9 research institutes as well as units focused on research administration, economic development, and industry collaboration. He had previously served as Senior Director of Communication for the Georgia Tech Research Institute where he was responsible for internal and external strategic marketing and communication, media relations, executive communication, crisis communication, and creative services.<\/p>\n

\u201cKirk\u2019s experience and strengths align with the needs of our campus. He has success building and establishing marketing and communication programs that incorporate faculty, student, and staff involvement to build the campus\u2019s local, regional and national reputation,\u201d said UTC Chancellor Steve Angle. \u201cHis leadership will support and benefit our efforts in student recruitment, philanthropy and branding our campus.\u201d<\/p>\n

Prior to his roles at Georgia Tech, Englehardt held positions with the Georgia Department of Education and the Broward County, Florida, Public Schools. He also has experience in crisis communication as a media relations specialist with the Broward County Sheriff\u2019s Office. He served as a news reporter and anchor for WIOD Newsradio in Miami.<\/p>\n

He holds a bachelor\u2019s degree in communication from Florida State University and a master\u2019s degree in public administration from Florida Atlantic University.<\/p>\n

\u201cTrue collaboration and strategic partnerships open many doors\u00a0 for students and faculty,\u201d said Englehardt. \u201cThis is an incredible opportunity and I can\u2019t wait to be a part of it all in Chattanooga.\u201d<\/p>\n
