As a home health care physical therapist, Jeremy remembers the visits way out in the country, down dirt driveways. She helped strengthen her patients\u2019 bodies and offered encouragement as they rehabilitated from surgery.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cIt all comes down to seeing patients benefit from a better quality of life,\u201d he said. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As a phlebotomist, Jeremy quickly became familiar with the raw environment of a hospital.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cYou come across many different situations and many different personalities,\u201d Jeremy explained. \u00a0\u201cThis experience matures you in a way. \u00a0You have to stay calm, maintain the values of the hospital, and become a team worker in the hospital.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In the beginning, Jermaine questioned whether the job was really for him, but now it has \u201cbecome second nature.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cI appreciate getting over the hump of sticking someone with a needle,\u201d he admitted.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The twins have done so well that they assist in training those new to the field.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Now, Jeremy and Jermaine have taken on a new challenge together. \u00a0They both began classes in August at the Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine (VCOM) on Auburn University\u2019s campus.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Jermaine graduated with a major in biology and a minor in chemistry. He says UTC prepared him well for his career choice.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cI enjoyed the environment here,\u201d he said, smiling. \u00a0\u201cI miss UTC! \u00a0I enjoyed being in Holt Hall and getting to know faculty members and having those relationships. \u00a0It was a supportive environment and I felt everyone wanted us to do well.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Identical twins Jeremy and Jermaine Hogstrom \u201915 admit to swapping identities many times in their lives, a challenge posed to parents, teachers, and friends.
