Communications major Lily Sanchez created and is now the editor of the Spanish section<\/a> for student-run campus newspaper, The University Echo<\/a>.<\/p>\n

She names the University’s location, Chattanooga, as being one of her favorite things about UTC because of the diverse opportunities just a few steps away. \u201cIf you\u2019re looking for a place that you can dip your feet into a lot of things, UTC is the place to come.\u201d<\/p>\n

Sanchez continues, \u201cTo freshmen interested in the field of communication I would say: take as many opportunities that are given to you. I think that you can never do too much within the school. And Chattanooga is such a great place to foster the idea of communication. You\u2019re never not going to have a chance to use what you learn in school.\u201d<\/p>\n

Sanchez loves her chosen field of communication because of the freedom it offers. You can be unique and awkward. You can be you.<\/p>\n
