Brown, executive vice chancellor of finance and operations at UTC and a longtime friend of the Mapp family, spoke at the reception, offering personal stories about James Mapp and his work with race relations and desegregation in Chattanooga.. The exhibit, located in the Chattanooga African American Museum inside the Bessie Smith Cultural Center, documents James Mapp&#8217;s life with photos, documents and artifacts.
