The UTC Cress Gallery of Art and the UTC John and Diane Marek Visiting Artist Series announce two new solo exhibitions and the first Marek Visiting Artist venue of the 2009-10 season.<\/p>\n

\u201cSticky Situation,\u201d an exhibition of sculpture by Johnston Foster, and \u201cGazer\u201d an exhibition of painting by Christine Gray, will begin with artists\u2019 lectures and a reception today, Tuesday, October 13, 5:30 p.m., in the UTC Fine Arts Center. This event is free and open to the campus and community.<\/p>\n

The exhibitions will run from October 14 through November 24. Gallery hours: 9:30 a.m. \u2013 7 p.m. Monday \u2013 Friday and through intermission for all UTC Patten Series performances.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Cress is pleased to exhibit work of such strong skill and conceptual weight and to welcome both artists to campus and Chattanooga. Both Foster and Gray create solidly crafted work that presents multi-layered contextual excavations into our historical past and current state with an open commentary for the future,\u201d said Ruth Grover, Director\/Curator of the UTC Cress Gallery of Art. <\/p>\n
