College students win the most awards at national conference"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Competing against a group of about 500, three students in UTC\u2019s Honors College came out as winners in the National Collegiate Honors Council\u2019s national meeting\u2014the largest number of winners from any university at the conference.<\/p>\n<p>The three students\u2014Olivia George, Simar Singh and Zeke Starr\u2014landed first-, second- and third-place finishes, respectively, in the competitions for student-made posters.<\/p>\n<p>There were 10 separate categories in the contest and students were required to design posterboard presentations on their chosen subjects.<\/p>\n<p>George, in the college\u2019s Innovations in Honors program, won first place in the Natural Sciences and Mathematics category for her work on \u201cWashcoat, Viscosity, and Effective Catalytic Substrates.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Singh, also in Innovations in Honors, came in second in Business, Engineering and Computer Sciences with his poster on \u201cEfficacy of Fuzzy Electronics in Space.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The contest was judged by a team of honors faculty and administrators.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_19826\"
