In a relaxed, no-pressure environment, local professionals and Chattanooga students will meet to build connections.<\/p>\n

The upcoming Art of Networking event at the Hunter Museum of American Art isn\u2019t your typical career fair, says Mo Baptiste, executive director of Student Development.<\/p>\n

\u201cUnlike a career fair, there is no pressure to perform. The purpose of this event is for the students to engage professionals from various industries while practicing soft skills that will serve them for the rest of their careers,\u201d Baptiste explains.<\/p>\n

Soft skills such as maneuvering through conversations, actively listening to others or demonstrating empathy aren\u2019t always learned in the classroom, but they are high-demand skills necessary to landing a job after graduation, Baptiste says.<\/p>\n

The Art of Networking isn\u2019t just for UTC students. The event is open to students from Chattanooga State Community College.<\/p>\n
