For more than twenty years he has worked with students, young people, and design professionals to develop affordable housing and design projects for local communities.<\/p>\n<p>He is the founder and director of the non-profit design organization, Design Corps, with the mission \u201cto create positive change in communities through design.\u201d\u00a0 He is the editor of <em>Good Deeds, Good Design: Community Service Through Architecture<\/em> and the co-editor of <em>Expanding Architecture: Design as Activism<\/em>, a collection of essays by community leaders and design professionals.<\/p>\n<p>In keeping with Design Corps\u2019 motto, \u201cgood design should be accessible to all,\u201d Bell encourages young graduates and design professionals to take on the role of \u201cdesign activist\u201d in response to the planning and design needs of a particular community.
