There\u2019s an app for that.<\/p>\n<p>Ever driven around campus, time tick-tick-ticking away, trying desperately to find a parking space? There\u2019s an app for that.<\/p>\n<p>Feel bad about leaving your dog outside where temperatures can run hot or cold inside the doghouse, where the food gets wet in rain and the water bowl sometimes gets low? There\u2019s a newly designed doghouse for that.<\/p>\n<p>Real-life solutions for real-life problems is one of the goals for student projects being presented at the upcoming Tech Symposium in the Public Library downtown.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m extremely proud of our College of Engineering and Computer Science students who have\u00a0applied what they have learned in classroom to solve\u00a0real-world problems, says Daniel Pack, dean of the college. \u201cThe 120-plus projects that will be on\u00a0display represent solutions for the problems we face today and advancement in technologies and\u00a0innovations in preparation of future challenges.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBy participating in applied\u00a0research, our students are better prepared to enter the workforce or advanced studies as collaborative and creative thinkers.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Categories for the projects are: freshmen design, undergraduate research, senior capstone and graduate research.Projects will be on display throughout the library and outside, including the Baja Car, Concrete Canoe and Steel Bridge.
