Lecture: “The Home Place: Memoirs of a Colored Man’s Love Affair with Nature” by Dr. Drew Lanham<\/h3>\n

When<\/strong>: 5-5:25 p.m. Book Signing and Reception outside of the UC Auditorium; 5:30-6:30 p.m. Lecture; Sept. 5<\/p>\n

11 Hours of Remembrance Walk\/Run<\/h3>\n

When:<\/strong> 6:00 a.m. – 5:00 a.m., Sept. 11<\/p>\n

Where:<\/strong> UTC ROTC tent next to Starbucks<\/p>\n

Details:<\/strong> UTC’s Army ROTC will remember and honor the victims and service members killed and injured, as well as those whose heroic actions prevented more deaths, during the terror attacks on September 11, 2001. Participants can carry an American flag or a flag of one of the U.S. Armed Services and take at least one lap around the field. Flags will be available to sign out at the UTC ROTC tent next to Starbucks, but you also may bring your own American or service flag.<\/p>\n

\n

Chancellor\u2019s State of the University<\/h3>\n

When:<\/strong> 11:15 a.m., Sept. 13<\/p>\n

Where:<\/strong> Oak Street, outside of the Guerry Center<\/p>\n

Details:<\/strong> Chancellor Steve Angle will give his annual State of the University address. This event includes a rededication and self-guided tours of the newly-renovated Guerry Center.<\/p>\n

\n

UTC Constitution Day<\/h3>\n

When:<\/strong> 7:30 p.m. – 9:30 p.m., Sept. 17<\/p>\n

Where:<\/strong> UC 206 Auditorium<\/p>\n

Admission:<\/strong> Free and open to the public.<\/p>\n

Details:<\/strong> The Center for Reflective Citizenship welcomes Andrew Porwancher, who will be presenting on the challenges in America. Refreshments will be served.<\/p>\n

Economics Distinguished Speaker Seminar<\/h3>\n

When:<\/strong> 12:45 p.m.- 3:30 p.m., Sept. 20<\/p>\n

Where:<\/strong> UC 359 Ocoee Room<\/p>\n

Details:<\/strong> The Economics Department welcomes Professor Joni Hersch, a distinguished researcher and the Co-Director of Vanderbilt’s PhD program in Law and Economics. Her research focuses on the influence of gender and race in labor market outcomes and higher education.<\/p>\n
