Theresa Liedtka, dean of the UTC Library, has been selected as one of 15 people statewide to be part of the inaugural Tennessee Higher Education Leadership and Innovation Fellows program.<\/p>\n

The professional development program is designed to develop the next generation of enterprise leaders in higher education and, beginning in October, it will visit campuses across the state to learn from experts and build extended networks.<\/p>\n

\u201cI am honored to represent UTC and to participate in the inaugural THEC Leadership and Innovation Program,\u201d Liedtka says. \u201cFrom a professional and personal development standpoint, I look forward to the program\u2019s challenges and hope to improve my skills to better serve the UT community and, specifically, my many talented colleagues and our awesome students at UTC.”<\/p>\n

Chancellor Steve Angle says Liedtka\u2019s selection is high praise for everyone involved.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is the inaugural class of a statewide program and to have a UTC member on its leadership team is a real honor,\u201d he says. \u201cIt certainly speaks highly of UTC in general and Theresa in particular.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Higher Education Leadership and Innovation Fellows program will create individual development goals through professional assessments, one-on-one executive coaching and mentoring networks and job-shadowing experiences.<\/p>\n

\u201cAddressing the challenges currently facing higher education will require leaders that are steeped in innovation and keenly focused on student success. This program will help Tennessee develop a cohort of higher education professionals ready to excel in executive positions,\u201d said Tennessee Higher Education Commission Executive Director Mike Krause.<\/p>\n
