Indulge your sweet tooth and help out a special group of UTC students at same time this summer.<\/p>\n
Students in the UTC English as a Second Language Institute will be selling ice cream sandwiches and bars outside the Food Court in the University Center tomorrow from noon until 1 p.m. Cost is $1.<\/p>\n
Although this is not a fund-raising event, you will be helping the students with much needed practice speaking English. 24 students from South Korea, China, Vietnam, Venezuela, Mexico, Columbia, Ukraine, Czech Republic, and Saudi Arabia are attending the ESL Institute this summer.<\/p>\n
“This is a great way for the ESL students to interact with Americans and it gives them a fun way to practice the English speaking skills they have been working on in class,” said Jane Womack, coordinator of the ESL Institute.<\/p>\n
ESL students will be selling ice cream and waiting for conversation June 10, 17, and 24, and July 8, 22, and 29, in the University Center from noon to 1 p.m.<\/p>\n
